Free 32-hour program.

The Quebradinha on Screen is a free 32-hour audiovisual program, created to bring young people from Mauá’s underserved communities closer to cinema—not only as audiences, but as authors of their own stories.

Led by filmmaker and educator Lazzarini, the workshop offers a practical, accessible introduction to screenwriting, camera work, framing, sound, production, directing, and short-film creation. Across eight sessions, participants develop narratives inspired by their experiences, communities, and identities using resources available to them.

The project is produced by Coletivo Quebradinha, founded and coordinated by Arthur Quebradinha, an artist, designer, and cultural activist from Mauá. For years, the collective has worked to democratize access to culture and audiovisual experiences in underserved communities through free screenings, educational programs, and experiences that strengthen identity, representation, and belonging.

At the end of the program, participants receive a certificate and present their work in a public cultural showcase, turning learning into creation, connection, and recognition for stories from underserved communities.
