Arthur Quebradinha in the Cinema em Casa project

These two newspaper clippings document an important early chapter in Arthur Quebradinha’s cultural work.

At the time, Arthur took part in the project Cinema at Home, created by his father, Wilson Quebradinha, in Oriente. The project organized activities for children and teenagers, bringing cinema, entertainment, and social initiatives to the community.

During one activity, Arthur was invited to perform magic for the children. The event was featured in the local newspaper, and he was also honored for his contribution to the project.

This work marked the beginning of a journey that later continued in Mauá with the first Cinema Quebradinha screening, held on August 20, 2017.

Today, the collective continues its cultural work and has directly reached more than 3,000 children over more than ten years.

Who is Arthur Quebradinha?

Arthur Quebradinha is a cultural producer, graphic designer, magician, entrepreneur, and anti-racist activist, born and raised in Mauá in Greater São Paulo’s ABC region.

His journey spans community culture, audiovisual media, art, entrepreneurship, and the creation of projects that expand access to culture in local communities.

Arthur is one of the principal leaders of Coletivo Quebradinha, an initiative founded in 2015 by his father, Wilson Quebradinha, in Oriente, São Paulo. In 2017, Arthur brought the project to Mauá, where he held the city’s first Cinema Quebradinha screening on August 20.

Since then, he has developed free cultural programs in underserved neighborhoods, schools, institutes, libraries, public squares, associations, and community spaces.

Through Coletivo Quebradinha, Arthur organizes traveling film screenings, visual arts, chess and graffiti workshops, discussion circles, cultural performances, and initiatives celebrating Black and community culture.

Over more than ten years, the collective’s initiatives have directly reached more than 3,000 children, as well as young people, adults, and families.

His work is grounded in the belief that culture is a right and that underserved communities should be recognized not only as audiences, but as places of creation, memory, knowledge, identity, and transformation.

Alongside his cultural work, Arthur is a graphic designer and leads AR Gráfica, where he develops visual identities, promotional materials, custom print products, visual communication, and design solutions for brands, companies, collectives, and entrepreneurs.

He also works as a magician and artist, using art as a tool for connection, wonder, and dialogue with diverse audiences.

Arthur has helped build and organize cultural, community, and anti-racist initiatives in Mauá, including the Zumbi dos Palmares March, audiovisual projects, children’s activities, and cultural occupations across the city.

In 2024, he joined the Mauá Municipal Council for Culture as the audiovisual sector representative.

In 2025, Coletivo Quebradinha was recognized as a Culture Point by Brazil’s Ministry of Culture and ranked among the ten national finalists of Fenômenos Academy.

Arthur Quebradinha believes in culture’s power to drive social transformation, strengthen self-esteem, and create new possibilities.

His path brings together art, communication, entrepreneurship, community, and social commitment—with the goal of creating opportunities, strengthening local neighborhoods, and expanding access to culture, information, and the right to dream.

Training that strengthens practice.

Alongside lived community experience, the collective’s work is supported by training in culture, management, communication, audiovisual production, and social impact.
